Fire Trucks West
is the dealer for Rosenbauer America in Utah and N. Nevada.
Fire Trucks West, Inc.
is owned and operated by Robert Beck and
was started in 1994.
In 1979 Bob and his dad Phil Beck partnered together and started
Beck Fire Apparatus in Cloverdale, CA, which
manufactured rescue vehicles, water tenders, and pumpers
for departments primarily located in California and
produced up to 75 units a year. With both hands on and
supervisory involvement Bob spent his days actively in
all facets of sales, marketing and manufacturing at Beck
Fire Apparatus. In 1990 they sold the business to
Ottawa Truck Corporation in Kansas and Phil Beck
retired. In 1992 Bob moved to Boise, ID and shortly
after started Fire Trucks West.
Fire Trucks West has grown since our
commencement, building a first class team to better
serve our valued customers. Bob and Kent Graham
continually strive to improve customer satisfaction by
evaluating customer's needs and attempting to exceed
their expectations. Susan Likes heads up advertising
and office administration. More recently, we welcomed
Janie Potter, Sales / Production Coordinator, who in
just a short period of time has mastered Quote Writer
and SparCON; and is a great help to our sales staff.
Corbin Brown, Delivery Technician works with the
departments after the sale to make sure the Rosenbauer
trucks are delivered to their new home.

Small town origins, Harold & Helen Boer
began a modest welding and vehicle refurbishment
business in the mid-70?s. As chief of the Lyons, South
Dakota Fire Department, Harold was called upon to equip
the station and built his first fire truck. Soon after,
he formed Central States Fire Apparatus and in less than
five years the company was producing 50 trucks annually
for fire departments throughout the Midwest.
Building on these modest roots and a dedication to
rock-solid quality, Central States quickly grew to a
company of 230 dedicated employees with 120,000 sq. ft.
of production area producing hundreds of units annually.
Today, Rosenbauer Central Division produces a full line
of apparatus including pumpers, tankers, rescue
vehicles, aerials, and specialty vehicles |

General
Safety Equipment was founded in the town of Lindstrom in
the mid 1930's by Elmer Abrahamson. Elmer was the local
blacksmith and volunteer Fire Chief at the time. When
the need arose for Lindstrom's first motorized fire
truck, the City realized they could not afford one,
therefore, Elmer offered to build a truck in his
blacksmith shop. Upon seeing Elmer?s creation, other
communities began asking him to build trucks for them as
well, and thus the start of his new enterprise.
In 1998, another partnership was formed with Central
States Fire Apparatus of Lyons, South Dakota. While
General Safety's emphasis is still on customized
vehicles, the partnership with Central has provided the
company with the combined largest product line in the
industry.
Today General Safety manufacturers fire trucks for
nearly every state and country throughout the world.
Recent customers include; Minneapolis, Bloomington,
Cleveland, Ohio, Charlotte, North Carolina, Fort Worth,
Texas, Spokane, Washington, China, Egypt, Israel, Korea,
South Africa and the U.S. Air Force. Starting with its
humbling beginnings on main street Lindstrom, General
Safety is today regarded as a world-class provider of
high quality fire apparatus. |
